Gabriel M. Steinbach

Gabriel M. Steinbach, 93, died peacefully in his sleep on April 25, 2015. Gabe was a U.S. Army World War I I veteran who served overseas. He was predeceased by his wife Elaine Goldberg Steinbach. Throughout his prestigious career as a Comptroller, he worked at the highest level for the U.S. Government for over 45 years. Survivors include his devoted children, Joan Newman and her husband Alan of Fairfield, Roy Steinbach and his wife Bonnie of Brooklyn, New York, 5 grandchildren, Bonnie Stein and her husband Owen, Eric Newman and his wife Amy, Keri Adwin and her husband Jason, Linzie Peckis and her husband Jason, Ashley Bell and her husband Daniel, 10 great grandchildren Sarah and Benjamin Stein, Jakob and Rebecca Newman, Jack, Alex, and Ella Adwin, Samuel and Matthew Peckis, Sydney Bell, and close family friend Larry Barnett. We would also like to acknowledge his caregiver Audrey Sinclair, the staff at Spring Meadows, and the Chaifetz Family Hospice. Graveside services took place on Sunday, April 26 at the B 'nai Israel Cemetery in Monroe. Shiva was observed on Sunday and Monday at the Newman residence.
