Helen Hammond

Helen Hammond, Age 95, died Thursday, July 4, 2013 at Bridgeport Hospital. Born May 8, 1918 in New York, NY to the late Archangelo and Josephine Profeta. She lived in Franklin Square, NY from the time she was married to Harold W. Hammond in June of 1950 until 2002, where she became a resident of High Meadows Condominiums in Monroe, CT. The last 2 years of her life she spent at Cambridge Manor in Fairfield, Ct.

An avid fan of baseball, especially the NY Mets, Helen really loved her children, grandchildren by attending all of their activities as best as she could. She enjoyed playing cards, bingo, and completing puzzles. Along with that she adored her dogs; “Howie”, a kerry blue terrier, and “Skippy” a wire-hair fox terrier.

She leaves behind her sister, Florence Hammond in Florida, son, Robert Hammond and his wife, Marlene, daughter, Patricia McAuley and her husband, Timothy. Along with her Grandchildren; Renee, Brad, Ross, Linda, Shawn followed by her great-grandchildren; Cameron, Lily, Keeley, Sophia, Nathan, and Dane. She is predeceased by her sisters; Regina and Margarate.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday July 8th at 10:00 am at Christ the King Church 4700 Madison Ave., Trumbull, CT. Interment is to follow at Calverton Cemetery, 210 Princeton Blvd Calverton, NY 11933. Friends may visit Sunday July 7th from 5 to 8 PM at Spadaccino & Leo P.
