

She was the beloved wife of William Pategas for over 60 years. They married at the beginning of World War II. She was able to follow him from camp to camp until he was shipped overseas. During her lifetime she loved to quilt, creating beautiful quilts for each of her children and grandchildren. She was an active volunteer at the Monroe Senior Center for many years up until she entered Apple Rehab Center in Shelton. She always had knitting needles in her hand, making countless knitted hats for those who needed them. She loves dogs, especially Heidi, Sadie and Ellie Mae.
She was predeceased by her husband Bill and her sister Marion Kellogg along with several nephews. She is survived by her sons, Bill and his wife Barbara of Naples, Florida. Eugene Sr. and his wife Joan of Huntington, Connecticut. Also her six grandchildren, Eugene Pategas Jr. of Andover, Vermont. Sarah DeLeo of Naples, Florida. Josh Pategas and his wife Erin of Seattle, Washington. Thomas Pategas and his wife Victoria of Naples, Florida. Kathryn Callahan and her husband Scott of Monroe Connecticut, and Jillian Pategas of Monroe, Connecticut. Also as well as her 11 grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews.
Jean will celebrate her missed 102nd birthday with a Mass at Saint Jude Church in Monroe Connecticut on December 11 at 11 o’clock. Interment will be at the Resurrection Cemetery in Newtown Connecticut following the Mass.
