

John J. Roman Sr., of Monroe, beloved father, grandfather, uncle, great uncle and friend, peacefully passed away with his family at his bedside on Friday, September 5, 2014 at the age of 76. John, born on April 9, 1938 in Stamford, CT, was pre-deceased by his parents George and Rose (Passero) Roman, and his brothers, George and Richard. He is survived by his loving wife Evelyn, his three children Jennifer and her husband Harry Singleton, John (Jay) Roman Jr. and his wife Allison, and Christopher Roman and his wife Ellen. Better known as Pop-Pop, John is also survived by his 5 beautiful grandchildren Emma, Michael, Abigail, Lyla, and Stella. John, Pop-Pop, or Bear was a gentle man with an amazing gift of knowledge and trivia, and could fix anything with a roll of duct tape and a wire hanger. He was loved by many. The family would like to thank the staff at Danbury Hospital and Masonicare of Newtown for all their care and comfort. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, September 10th at 10am at St. Stephen Church, 6948 Main Street, Trumbull. Calling hours will be on Tuesday, September 9th from 4pm to 8pm at Spadaccino and Leo P. Gallagher & Son Community Funeral Home, 315 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe, CT 06468 Interment will be private.
