

Joseph F. Giorgio, Sr., 85 died peacefully at his home on Wednesday February 4, 2015 surrounded by his family. Joseph leaves behind his beloved wife, Rose, of 60 years. The son of the late Frank and Isabella Giorgio, he was born on July 29, 1929 and grew up in Brooklyn, NY. Joseph graduated from SUNY, Oswego in 1951 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education and received his Masters Degree in Education from University of Connecticut. He served honorably in the United States Air Force from 1951 to 1955 and married Rose Ingrassi on April 24, 1954 in Bronx, NY. He worked as an educator and administrator in the Connecticut Public school system for over 34 years where he embraced life, never stopped teaching and positively influencing people with his charismatic smile thru out his life’s journey. He was a man of great honor, courage and a lover of humanity. He was a 4th Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus for over 66 years, and his deepest joy was exploring the country with his wife, being with his family, enjoying in their accomplishments, and watching his grandchildren grow. He had a tremendous passion for boating aboard his boat, the “Belle Rose”. In addition to his wife, Rose, Joseph is survived by his three children, Joseph, Jr, his wife Rebeca; Stephen, his wife Grace; and Elizabeth, her husband Gary and nine Grandchildren. He will remain loved, respected and cherished and be missed deeply by his friends and family.
