Our Condolences to the family. We met Kyle about four years ago. He was always a happy ,very personable guy. He was one of my daughters friends, he had no problem spending time with the parents. We talked a lot of sports, played ladder golf and corn hole. He loved swimming in the pool usually being the first one in. Kyle loved life and so happy to have known him for that time.

This was the last picture Kyle and I had together it was on his 24th birthday. Kat took a candid shot of him and I while we where dancing to a song that was playing I think it was “It’s Tricky”.  And we were trying to do the cross legged hop from the movie “white chicks”. I’m gonna miss your dance moves Kage as well a great many of things about you.

There are so many memories of Kyle and all of Drew’s pals in our home.  Kyle had such a contagious giggle! He was kind, thoughtful, attentive and shared so much with our family. He was a great friend and a respectful and thoughtful human. On the night this picture was taken, I clearly remember the outbursts of laughter and silliness. Conversations about past memories and music. More silliness and videos to follow but this captured a moment when all seemed so happy and connected.  Kyle is missed so much already. My thoughts are with all of you at home as well as Kyle’s friends- I know they are hurting too. They are amazing people. I love that they have each other and can grieve and celebrate Kyle at the same time. ❤️

Dear Sue, Paul, Owen, Ryan, Nancy, Jeri & Gregg,

Words cannot begin to describe the love our family feels for Kyle nor can words convey the tremendous loss we all share. What a fortuitous blessing to land in this neighborhood in 2001 with a perfectly aged and equally active boy to become Orion’s best friend and “brother from another mother”. Kyle integrated seamlessly into our family. From block parties to soccer, basketball and baseball games (even a few Robotics competitions), Doug and I had the privilege of watching our children grow up together. No Strickland family gathering was complete without Kyle’s brilliant, dazzling smile and raucous laughter punctuating each moment. 

Kyle was the very best brother and friend to both Orion and Ember. He was always willing to include Orion’s baby sister in their rowdy play sessions and “rarely” complained. Even as an adult, Kyle could make us smile and full-on cry with laughter while listening to his hilariously vivid storytelling. Kyle is also responsible for introducing another “son/brother” into our lives, Anton Kaminskiy. We know that Anton is a gift from Kyle to us.

Kyle, you will be MISSED FOREVER and DEEPLY LOVED for ALWAYS.

I’ve held off from writing because I don’t know what to say. There are no words other than please know you’re in our thoughts each and every day. We cannot imagine your pain. Eric and Kyle and all the rest of the neighborhood kids were always at each other’s houses, swimming, playing Manhunt at night in the summer months, gaming on the computer., the block parties. These are just some of the memories that come to mind.  Later in life Kyle and Eric became very close, Eric would speak of the many hours he would spend at your house and the many conversations he’d have with all of your family.  Though we didn’t see him often, when he did come by he was just like the little boy we remember with the very big, warm smile (except no curls) and always genuinely caring and respectful.

I’ve been trying to find the words since I heard of your passing. I met Kyle about 10 years ago and my life has never been the same since. Thank you for always showing me so much kindness and patience. I don’t think I’ll ever know a friendship like yours again. Kyle was truly a special person and I don’t say that lightly. To Kyle and his family, Kyle seemed a gentle, kind and understanding soul. Kyle and I had never spoke much outside of class, but for the times we saw each other in our courses at SCSU it was always brightening to see him with such a warm welcoming smile every single class. Though we weren’t on a personal level, Kyle and I had enough exchanges that were meaningful and grounding to daily struggles of being a college student, a man and more. Something about Kyle always stood out to me when I walked into class, seeing how he spoke to anyone he was around and provided comfort in just few words. Kyle and I shared not only words and laughs, but something that is unfortunately rare in currently society and that’s speaking to your neighbor who isn’t your neighbor. Me and Kyle didn’t remotely know much about each other’s lives, and yet we still managed to connect over a wide area of interests and common struggle. I hope Kyle was able to find peace and to his family/ loved ones, I hope you all are able to heal and cherish Kyle in your memories. My condolences, love and support. 

Although I did not have a close relationship to Kyle, he was my classmate. Kyle was very kind to everyone, had a contagious smile, and a warm presence. Prayers to his family, he will be missed by many. 

To Kyle and his family, I didn’t know Kyle by much other than our interactions in classes at SCSU. Kyle seemed a gentle soul and a receptive one at that. While me and Kyle didn’t always exchange many words, it was enough that we would give each other a nod of familiarity whenever we saw one another out in public. The interactions I had with Kyle were always warming, funny and honest. Although I again didn’t know Kyle on a much more personal level, it was always great to see him present in class, around campus and talking to anyone he was near. I hope Kyle was able to find peace and your family may take the time to heal and cherish every memory of Kyle there was. My condolences and love to your family/ loved ones. Rest In Peace Kyle. 

Back in November of 2020 I got my second concussion and it was really bad. Kyle came over everyday and stayed with me in the dark, uplifted me, told me stories and made me laugh. We got to the point of boredom that Kyle and Eric convinced me to learn how to play inf, which I def wasn’t suppose to be playing video games…. I was so nervous and bad  since I hadn’t played in so long and it was so different. But Kyle  made me feel at ease and taught me how to be..somewhat a pro lol. He was always so proud of me when I would finally get on the leader board. I also loved watching him play too he was such a beast. We laughed, we played, we listened to music. I snapped this pic one day so I could always remember how amazing those times were. How happy we all were just simply doing nothing. It was always so easy to hang out with Kyle, he just wanted to be around you and make you laugh. He was my family. I’ll miss seeing him around my house everyday. I’ll miss him always checking in. I’ll miss his goofiness. His hugs. Most of all ~ I’ll just miss him. 

I was shocked and saddened to hear this tragic news. I vividly remember Kyle in my third grade classroom. His smile was infectIous and he brought a lot of excitement into our classroom. I send my deepest condolences to the rest of the family.

Kyle was my drum student for a while and in his presence I always felt like I was the student! His deep thoughts and his omnipresent sense of kindness, compassion and appreciation of others was such an honor to be around! It came a lot from his Mother Sue , who I graduated with in 1988 from Masuk HS.  Sue always had a kind demeanor and a beautiful smile and never had a harsh word for anyone. Paul his father is a good man and someone who is respected by all! 

I cannot put into words how this has effected my life , having a child of my own,  it is so hard to imagine how I would handle this tragedy! 

Kyle , thank you for the precious time we spent together buddy! I love you and you will be painstakingly missed by all you graced with your presence!

Kyle was one of those friends I could go months or years without seeing, but I knew the second I saw him again we would be right back to where we left off. He was gentle, kind, funny. Kyle was one of my closest friends growing up and stuck by my side during the most awkward stage of my life - middle school. He was one of the kindest, sweetest and funniest spirits I’ve ever come across. I will always remember him as someone that could light up a room and put anyone in a good mood. He will certainly be missed.

We had many fond memories of Kyle from family camp outs, to block parties to friday night ski gatherings with Nicole and Kyle. 

This is from the time i was living in New York struggling with being away from home. Kyle came to visit me with Kat and Eric and i’ll just never forget how much better he made me feel about my situation, knowing they were just a train ride away. We laughed and ate food and shared jokes. He was so happy. I’ll never forget this day, he was and will forever be one of my best friends and i’ll love him forever. Rest in peace Kyle, i hope to see you again some day.

i got kyle a job at the packy when he was down on his luck and just wanted a place to be during the day. we spent everyday working just the two of us most of the time at the store. we would blast two music, kyle would rub in my face that future had a grammy before thug on a song that he basically just said ladeedaa. he spent most of our nights fake punching me in the face until the day he actually connected in front of a whole line of people. anybody else i would have probably pummeled right there but i had always had a soft spot for him, so he got out unscathed. the amount of memories in that place alone is insane but we made so many together over time. we wrote half a season to a sit com in that place i mean we just riffed and ragged on each other for hours on end and it never got old. the jokes never got stale , we made fun of each other more than two people ever can and we still managed to find a way to be creative with an insult. he showed up on my 21st birthday pretty much the second i called him when everyone else ignored me. he was the only one to show up. he was always there, he never missed a call, he was my best friend. there were times when i was down he would invite me for dinner with his family just so he could be there for me, he was the sweetest. he helped me grow, he helped me learn, he ignored every piece of advice i gave him when he would call me panicking about whatever was happening at any given time. i’m really gonna miss the little things, the fake punches, the roasts, the hugs, the dancing, i’m even gonna miss laying on his bed watching him flex how many baskets he could make in his little basketball hook for 30 minutes straight. i miss the nick names the arguments i miss the deflecting. he was just the best, i have a million memories that i will never let go of 

I am so greatly saddened by this loss. Kyle and I were close friends at SCSU. Kyle was there for me during some of the hardest points in my life and I genuinely don’t know what I would’ve done without him. I am grateful to have had the privilege of knowing him and having his friendship for the time that I did. I send my thoughts, prayers, and sympathy to Kyle’s family and loved ones.

I think about Kyle and this picture from so long ago comes to mind every time. It was just an ordinary day playing in the neighborhood. But Kyle decided to take Liz’s Pink Nike Shox and wear them around with his pajamas and crazy curly hair. Just because. Kyle could put a smile on anyone’s face without even trying. He was naturally funny and such a clown at times.

There were so many days with all of us bouncing around from house to house, playing, hanging out and growing up together on Longview. Those memories will never fade. He is already missed so much. But his memories will last and he will stay with us always.

Kyle was one of my most favorite students. He has taken classes with me over the last few years at SCSU and I truly loved having him in my classes. I regularly would talk to friends and loved ones about how much I valued him both as a student and a person. I am truly heartbroken by this news. Condolences to all of his family.

This was at his birthday celebration this past year, all his close friends were there and I could tell he felt so loved and appreciated, it was an amazing night. I wanted to make sure I got some good pictures of us together that night because we didn’t really have any, and I’m so glad I have them now. I’ll miss him every single day ❤️

This past year He had gotten 2 tickets to a Yankee game for his birthday, and he basically gave me the second ticket as my birthday gift ❤️ we went together and had such an amazing time watching them. He was a die hard Yankees fan, we were both so hyped up the whole game it was one of the best experiences ever. 

This was from a weekend trip to Boston, it was amazing we had such a fun time. I’ll never forget a certain moment on this trip between me and Kyle, I had just gotten my wireless earbuds and one of the nights we were walking each with one in our ears listening to the same song just dancing and laughing like nothing mattered. We were having so much fun that I fell into bush that night. So many amazing memories.

This was on vacation to Rhode Island in August of this past year. Right before his birthday ❤️ such great memories from that trip, this was a Polaroid we took on the beach, it was beautiful that day. I’ll never forget it.
