Born in Lititz, Pennsylvania, to the late Samuel and Elizabeth Hossler, Lee was a graduate of Manheim Central High School and attended Franklin and Marshall College. His professional career in marketing began with Raybestos-Manhattan in Manheim, later bringing him to the company’s Trumbull headquarters. He went on to contribute his talents to Rudkin-Wiley in Stratford and Trans-Lux in Norwalk, where he worked until his retirement.
Retirement, however, was simply a new chapter of service. Lee became a champion for the town of Monroe, serving on the Economic Development Commission and as an Ambassador for the Monroe Chamber of Commerce. Lee was an active member of the Save Our Stepney Task Force, organizing numerous activities and celebrations, from the Veterans’ Day tributes to the magic of the annual tree lighting.
Lee was a man of diverse passions. An avid photographer, cyclist, and skier, he explored the world with an adventurer's spirit. He famously shared these travels through hours of slide shows in his basement and public exhibits in Monroe. He was also known for his handmade holiday decorations that graced the corner of their property, bringing joy and smiles to all who passed by.
Though his feet were firmly rooted in the Stepney soil he loved, he always kept his eyes on the skies. He was an amateur meteorologist, stargazer, moon observer, hobby pilot, and bird watcher.
Lee is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Dorothy (Dotti), his son, Michael, and daughter-in-law, Kim, and his cherished grandchildren, Madeline and Jakob. He also leaves behind his sisters-in-laws, brothers-in-law, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers Robert, Richard, Donald, and Samuel, and his sister Geraldine (Boyer).
