Maria Fiorina Micco

Micco Maria Fiorina Persico 83 of Monroe lost her long battle with cancer on February 27, 2012 in her home with her loving family and her cat Belle by her side. Born in Sorrento, Italy, she was a Monroe resident since 1960. She was an avid gardener, bird enthusiast, and enjoyed cooking and travelling. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph Micco. Survivors include her son, Anthony Micco of Monroe three daughters Anna Kay and her husband Doug of Prospect, Rosa Gramesty and her husband Nick of Shelton, Josephine Micco of Monroe, and one cherished granddaughter, Teresa Romano of Monroe, her sisters Iolanda Esposito, Agata DeTurris, Rita Michieletto, Rosa Prestileo and many cherished nieces and nephews all of Italy. Maria was predeceased by her parents Antonio and Teresa DeGregorio Persico, Antonio Persico, a son Joseph Micco Jr. and a daughter Dolores Micco, two brothers Pepino Persico, Antonio Persico, and one sister Anna Persico. Calling hours will take place at the Spadaccino and Leo P. Gallagher & Son Community Funeral Home, 315 Monroe Turnpike in Monroe on Friday from 9 to 11 a.m., with a service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at St. John’s cemetery in Monroe.
