Maria M Nichols

Maria “Mary” Nichols, resident of Bridgeport, CT, formerly of Norwalk, passed away on the evening of Friday, March 12, 2010. Mary was born on March 15, 1939 in Stamford, CT to her parents, Vincent and Antoinette Parente. Her soul peacefully rests with her beloved late husband Donald and daughter Jan Marie.

Mary’s memory lives on through her four children: Dorene Nichols, Carolyn Blanch and husband, Jeff, Donald Nichols, Jr. and wife, Denise, and Nick Nichols and wife, Jen; her ten grandchildren: Dorianne Pisanelli, Timothy Dolan, Jessica-lee Blanch, Micky Elnahas, Amore Nichols, Alexandra Nichols, Olivia Nichols, Wynter Nichols, Brody Nichols, and Violet Nichols and her two great grandchildren: Benedetto Pisanelli and Zachery Pisanelli. She is also survived by her sister, Rose Lindmark, and brother Joseph Parente. Mary was preceded in death by her brother Amerigo Vincent Parente and her dear friend Mel. She will also be fondly remembered by her dear friends Laurie, Liz, Ruth, Marian and so many others.

Mary dedicated her life and love to her family. Her strength, kindness and love left a footprint that touched many lives and her laughter was a joy to all around her. Mary’s deep compassion and generosity lead her to dedicate much time to crocheting blankets, scarves and hats for those in need of comfort.

Mary was the heart of her family and will be deeply missed and forever loved. She will be remembered for the love, guidance and determination that were the foundation of her family’s strength. The dreams and memories she made will be the legacy that lives on though all the people she has touched.

The family will receive friends at Spadaccino and Leo P. Gallagher & Son Community Funeral Home, 315 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe, CT on Wednesday, March 17th between the hours of 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, March 18th at 11:00 a.m. at Parish of Christ Church, 59 Church Road, Easton, CT.
