Raymond Longo, 90, of Monroe, CT died peacefully at home on November 8, 2018 after a battle with lung cancer. Born in Greenwich, CT, he lived most of his life in Stamford, CT and Jupiter, FL then the last 10 years in Monroe to be near his three daughters. In his own sweet and gentle way, he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He was predeceased by his wife of 65 years, Virginia (Colacchio) Longo. He is survived by his daughters; Roseann Roberto and her husband John, Doreen Crisafi and her husband Bart and Donna Renz and her husband Ron, all of Monroe. He is also survived by six grandchildren, six great grandchildren and his brother Joe Longo of Stamford. He was a dedicated Catholic and 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus at both St. Jude’s in Monroe and St. Peters in Jupiter. He initiated the Diaper Drive for Hopeline in Bridgeport and volunteered in many other church activities. He loved dancing and listening to music from the ‘40’s, especially The Big Bands.
Family will be receiving friends Tuesday, November 13, 4-8 pm at Spadaccino and Leo P. Gallagher & Son Community Funeral Home, 315 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 14 at 11am at St Jude Church, 707 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 1056 Daniels Farm Road, Trumbull. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Regional Hospice, 30 Milestone Road, Danbury, CT.
