Vazhayil Itty Thampi, 72, went to be with the Lord on September 24, 2015. He was born to Vazhayil Itty and Pennamma. Thampi married Laly of Kandamathathil, Karichal, Kerala. The Lord blessed them with two children, Jacob and Elizabeth. Thampi immigrated to the United States in 1986.
He was affectionately referred to as “Thampi” by his beloved siblings late Thomas, Abraham, Babu, Omana Mathew and Saramma Kurien and he was a member of the Indian Assembly of God in Yonkers, NY. Thampi, a businessman from Punalur, Kerala was known in the community for the family he modeled according to the word of God.
He will always be remembered for having a new song every Sunday and teaching it to the church. His cheerful smile will be missed. He was active in supporting the mission work and promoting the gospel. He lived a content life enjoying his faith constantly until the day of his passing at the age of 72. He counted all things, even his trials as God’s gift and was never hesitant to speak of the goodness of God. He was never ashamed of his passion for the Lord and His people. He left the earth and we are bereaved but for him, he is with the Lord whom he hoped to see face to face at the far better place where there is no sorrow and no tears.
He is survived by his beloved wife Laly, son Jacob, his wife Glory and children Ruby and Nathan, and his daughter Elizabeth and her husband Lijo Varughese.
