Alexander Neigum

May 11th, 1931 – August 25th, 2017

Alexander Neigum, born May 11th, 1931 to Alexander and Katherine Neigum in Linton, ND, departed this life on August 25th, 2017 in Everett, WA. He was 86. Having been raised on a farm, Alexander had an appreciation for farm life and hard work. Later, he worked in construction and as a garbage man with General Disposal in Seattle for 25 years. He was a family man, a patient teacher and mentor. He enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening, vintage cars, dancing, and spending time with his grandkids and great grandkids. Alexander is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Carol, children Karen Spatz of Foley, AL, James Neigum of Everett, WA, Kathleen Amos (Gary) of Graham, WA, Joseph Neigum of Lake Stevens, WA and Kristi Just (Steve) of Snohomish, WA. He is also survived by his sisters Anna Schmidt, Elizabeth Keller of Seattle, WA, Frances Gustafson of Edmonds, WA and Katie Schmidt of Bismarck, ND, grandchildren Sarah, Jacob, Brandon, Jeremy, Cody, Nicolas, Samantha, and Stephanie, and great-grandchildren Benjamin, Ellye, and Hunter. He was preceded in death by his parents and 9 siblings. We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the nurses and doctors at the Inpatient Providence Colby Everett Campus A7 Floor and Hospice Care Center. A special thanks to Shane Broers and John Just for providing food and support during our time of grief. Visitation will be held on Friday, Sept. 1st, 2017, from 12-4PM at Purdy & Kerr with Dawson Funeral Home, 409 W. Main St., Monroe. A funeral service and celebration of Alex Neigum’s life will be held the following day, Saturday, Sept. 2nd at 11 AM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made. A post service celebration will be held after the funeral at his youngest daughter Kristi and husband Steve’s house in Snohomish.
