

Carol Mae Porter was born in 1940 to Irvin and Belle Wall. Growing up, Carol spent her days picking berries on the farm, swimming in woods creek, and causing trouble around town with her friends. After graduating from Monroe High in 1958, Carol began to work in Seattle for a time before she moved to Los Angeles. While in California, Carol met her husband Seldon Porter and married in 1961 in Las Vegas. Carol and Seldon moved to Port Angeles and later to Monroe to raise their two children, Raymond and Susan. Many weekends were spent with family and friends at the cabin in the San Juan Islands and travelling across the country with her husband. On Saturday, August 12th Carol passed away peacefully with both children at her side. She is proceeded in death by both parents and brother Les Wall. Carol is survived by her husband Seldon of 56 years as well as: her daughter, Susan (Kendall) Johnson with grandson Brady; son Raymond (Sandra) Porter with grandchildren Amanda and Ray; sister Marlene (Don) York; sister Mabel (Jerry) Ternes, and brother Mike (Dodi) Wall. All family and friends are invited to celebrate Carol’s life at Peace Lutheran Church in Monroe on September 9th at 11am. A reception will follow at Susan Johnson’s home, where Carol and Seldon lived for many years. Carol was known for her contagious laughter and overwhelming love. Her legacy thrives in the hearts she has touched over her 77 years on Earth.
