Chuck entered the U.S. Army in 1956 and was stationed in Kaiserslautern, Germany. While on duty there, he and Eva Sandvig were married. They had three children together.
Upon return to the states in 1959, he started his career with the J.C. Penney Co. getting to meet Mr. Penny in person. The job took him to Centralia, Wa., Albany, Or., and finally Anacortes, Wa.
The family moved to Leavenworth, Wa. in 1972, where he opened a men’s clothing store. He introduced “Bruce the Moose” to the valley, known state wide as the “talking moose”. Chuck was loved throughout the area and had customers from eastern Washington to Canada. They came to the “Tyrolean shop” for the time to visit with Chuck - not really for the pants and shirts. He always had a smile, positive attitude, and many stories to tell! He was a member of the Royal Bavarians and started a public speaking business on the side. He spoke on the revitalization of towns in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Alaska.
Chuck married Janet McGuire in 1981 and they continued the speaking business, adding “The Branch Office” (custom made birdhouses to scale of historical homes and buildings).
Chuck is survived by his wife Janet, daughters Cindy Langlois, Sue Durr (John), Son David Langlois (Denise); stepchildren Brett McGuire (Gail), and Sheila Suggs (Ron). Grandchildren David and Joe Langlois, Alex Durr, Mallory (Suggs) Reier, Jared Suggs, Sean and Erin McGuire, and three great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother George.
Chuck will be remembered for his deep laugh and constant smile. His family was always the most important thing in his life. He has left us all with great memories.
