Clarence William Gatzke after 95 years, passed away on April 1, 2012.

Lifetime resident of Startup who touched many lives as a Raspberry Farmer

of the Valley.

He loved the outdoors and marveled at the beauty of nature, He enjoyed the simple lifestyle of farming,

planting trees, hiking and trail riding in the mountains. His inside passion was music. Clarence spent

many hours singing and playing guitar. He was also an avid reader and a firm believer in education, staying fit

and appreciating life around you. A gentle Happy Guy who loved to talk and tell stories. He had the

“Gatzke gift of gab” and liked to be surrounded by family and friends. Clarence’s great example of clean living,

hard work and staying busy will be remembered. His Spirit will live on with us always.

Loved ones left behind – brother Wes (Marcia), wife Letta Mae (Davis), daughters Valerie (Harold) Jackson,

Brenda (Rick) Cross, grandchildren Heidi, Ronnie (Jon) Sid, Martin, Jake.

There will be a Gathering on the farm at a later date.
