Darrold Johnson, 62, died suddenly at his home in Monroe on Dec. 22nd. Darrold was born on January 24th, 1958, in Crescent City, CA, to Maxine and Don Johnson. He was the youngest of five children (by 5 minutes behind his twin, Donald). Darrold moved from Crescent City to Anderson, CA, then moved to Monroe at 16, where he graduated from high school.
Over the years, Darrold worked at various jobs until he became a roofer. He remained in that profession and worked with Donald for the next 30 years. Darrold was an avid sports fan and loved the Mariners! He loved collecting baseball cards and memorabilia. His collection was one of his most cherished possessions. He really enjoyed playing golf in later years.
Darrold had a strong faith in God. He loved studying and talking about the bible. Darrold was one of the kindest souls to walk this planet. He was always willing to help a person in need, tried to see the good in everyone, and was always willing to call someone a friend. He loved telling a joke (whether we wanted to hear it or not) and always laughed at them (whether we did or not). Most of all, he loved his children and family.
Darrold is preceded in death by his father Don and step-father William Bruggeman. He leaves behind his companion of 17 years, Amy Graham, mother Maxine Bruggeman of Monroe, children Kari (Randy) Diamond, Sharie (Dennis) Zvonlensky of Hampton, VA, Dylan (Julie) Johnson of Lake Stevens, Britney Johnson (Erick Peterson) of Gold Bar and William Johnson of Arlington; sister Naomi Johnson, brothers Donald (Cindy) Johnson, Jim (Jane) Johnson, and Richard (Astrid) Johnson; grandchildren Grace, Rhett, Hannah, Claire, Hailey, Maddy, Carly, Lincoln, Kolton, Landyn, and Mason; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
A memorial service will be held on January 30th.
