was the eldest of seven children born to George Frazier Jr. and Winona (Davis)
Frazier in a loving Jehovah Witness home.
Growing up in Duarte (Rock Town) California George attended local schools,
culminating with his graduation from Duarte High School in 1965. While in high school
he excelled athletically and for several years, held records in track and field. George
went on to study Math at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut, CA.
It was in high school that he met his sweetheart of fifty-one years, Vera (Mathis)
Frazier. They were united in matrimony on his birthday in 1967. And to this union, two
children were born: VaNessa and George IV. George's devotion was to his wife, two
children, and seven grandchildren. There was nothing he wouldn't do for his children.
Not one to attend church, George did have Christ in his heart. He was an avid coin
and knife collector and he absolutely loved the Dallas Cowboys.
Exhibiting a strong work ethic, George committed over fifteen years working at Day &
Night Payne, at times alongside his father. From there he spent the next twenty-two
years diligently working hard and receiving numerous accolades building missile
launchers and air craft fire extinguishers at Pacific Scientific/HTL.
A staunch community supporter, "Mr. G" as he is fondly known, was a staple at his
son's and grandsons' sporting events. For many years he spent his Friday nights at
high school games and his Saturdays at the Duarte Gorillas/Hawks football games;
even taking a shot at coaching for a season. George could often be seen out & about
Monrovia and Duarte even after his health began to fail him.
George is preceded in death by his mother, Winona Frazier, his father George Frazier
Jr., and youngest sister, Judith Frazier.
