Elba Beall was born on February 26, 1945 in El Salvador to Hector Serrano and Angelina Escalante. She had the first three of her six children in her home country. In 1974, Elba made the brave decision to travel by herself to the United States, where she had no family or friends, to create a better life for her children. Elba found work as a seamstress, and saved enough money to bring over her children and her mother within 2 years of arriving in the country. Elba married Raymond Beall and settled in Pico Rivera with all 6 of her children. She was blessed with 13 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Elba worked in the fashion industry for 45 years, working with fashion designers and creating beautiful garments. Elba then continued on as a self-contractor, creating thousands of fashion pieces and employing countless people. Using her skills as a fashion designer and sewing knowledge, Elba always made memorable pieces with love for her family over the years. Elba eventually retired from the fashion design field and devoted her time to taking care of her grandchildren, crocheting items for her family, and spending time with her friends by playing bingo and traveling to the casino. These were some of the hobbies that she loved the most.
Thanks to Elba's courageous decision to leave her home country and travel to the United States, she created a better life for her children and grandchildren who have eventually become professionals.
On the day of her passing, she was surrounded by love with her children, their spouses, grandchildren, and nephew.
