Cindy "Bones" Crouch

Cindy worked for Alabama Power for 31 years. She began her career in the print shop and worked her way up to a Senior Distribution Specialist before retiring. Her job entailed designing power plans for homes, businesses and power upgrades. She worked multiple natural disasters including hurricanes and tornadoes in Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana and Georgia to help restore power.

She loved her family, friends, co-workers, dogs, and church. Her grandbaby Bella and her daughter Tommie brought her great joy. She was a devoted partner and fun companion to Susan Vaughn for 25 years. She loved to laugh and told corny jokes fairly frequently. She was smart, witty, opinionated, caring, loving and had a generous heart. Despite health problems over the last several years, she never stopped living life to the fullest and maintained a positive attitude through it all.

Cindy enjoyed traveling and saw much of this beautiful country. She liked working in the woods and her woods are full of creative little pieces that she hung in trees, on fences, etc. One part of her life consisted of being a gym rat and golfer. She loved to read and sing in the church choir and the community choir and played the trombone, trumpet and guitar and enjoyed all types of music. She lived life to the fullest and took advantage of every opportunity to help others and have fun. She is now with her beloved dog Sam Crouch in an old pickup truck riding the back roads of heaven. Cindy was preceded in death by her mother Tommie Price Ellison. She is survived by her daughter, Tommie Lynn Crouch, grandbaby Bella Crouch, her partner Susan, father A.G. Elllison, sister Amy Ellison, and her beloved ex-husband Tony Crouch and countless friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church at 925 Plowman Street, Montevallo, on December 26, 2017. Visitation is at 12:30 and the service will follow at 2:00. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be given to St. Andrews Episcopal Church.
