Dorothy Alice Pirtle

She was a wonderful mother and grandmother, and was always there when we needed her. She was well loved by her friends and family and will be greatly missed. You could find her crafting in her free time, especially sewing, quilting, and crocheting.

Dorothy is preceded in death by husband, Charles B. Pirtle; son, Roy W. Pirtle; brother, Charles Pilkington.

She is survived by her daughters, Angela Mize (Lynn), LaDonna Lovejoy (Terry), Cynthia Bixby (Robert), and Joy Lucas (Ronny); sisters, Syble Pittard (Joe), Kay Plott and Gail Pilkington; brothers, Robert Pilkington and Ricky Reed (Lynn); grandchildren, Tonya Everett, Kelli Jackson (Bill), Melissa Herndon (Greg), Ashley Williams, Bruce Lovejoy, and Clint Lucas (Rebecca); great-grandchildren, Kimani Everett, Timothy White, Cheyenne Lawson, and Savannah Simson; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Dorothy will be held Monday, January 22, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Rockco Funeral Home, 3715 Highway 25, Montevallo, Alabama 35115. Following the visitation will be a graveside service at 12:00 PM at Montevallo City Cemetery, Highway 73, Montevallo, Alabama with Dr. Ronald Earl Goode officiating.
