Edna Loraine Rutledge, 82, passed away on February 24, 2026. She was a hard-working, compassionate, faithful, honest, and cherished woman who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Edna was a resident of Alabaster, Alabama.
Born in Fairfield, Alabama in 1944, Edna graduated from Hueytown High School in 1962.
In 1965, Edna married her beloved husband, Bill, and together they shared 61 beautiful years of marriage. She was the devoted mother of two daughters, Donna Coyle (Jimmy) and Marnie Shook (Joey). Edna was a proud grandmother to Ashley Wood (Jake), Courtney Dunn (Aaron), Cory Shook (Dhari), and Brook Lynn Sawyer, and a loving great-grandmother to Kylah, Addison, Aubrey, and Emery.
Edna found joy in the simple blessings of everyday life, especially working in the yard and gardening, and she also enjoyed watching old movies.
A graveside service will be held at Alabama National Cemetery, 3133 Highway 119, Montevallo, AL 35115, on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at 11:45 AM.
