George Terrell Lucas, age 76, of Montevallo, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on December 24, 2016. He graduated from Montevallo High School and worked as a mechanic for Blue Circle Cement Plant and White Motor Company. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Jemison. He loved singing, farming, raising cows, fishing and camping. Terrell was generous, outgoing, and fun to be around. He will be terribly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Audis Lucas and Louise Lucas Stone; his sister, Betty Nichols; and brother-in-law, Sam Williams. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Jalon B. Lucas; sons, Travis Lucas of Clanton and Brian Lucas (Gara) of Thorsby; four grandchildren, Austin Lucas, Tori Lucas, Bailey Lucas Cook (Jagger) and Cody Lucas; sisters, Imogene Williams and Gail Walker (Denver); brother-in-law, Doug Nichols; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, December 31, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Enon Cemetery in Montevallo, Alabama. Bro. Bill Trawick and Bro. Alan Foster will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alabama Kidney Foundation or the American Heart Association.
