John Wayne Yager, age 82, of Locust Fork, Alabama passed away on Sunday, April 13, 2025 at the VA Medical Center. John was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he earned several medals, including the Bronze Star.
John is preceded in death by one year & two days by his wife of 55 years, Margie Jane Davis Yager. He is also preceded in death by his son, Rhett Yager; his brother, George; two sisters, Shirley and Bernice; and his parents, Ethel Inez Yager and George Yager.
He is survived by his sons, Larry Yager, Greg Yager (Barbara) and Shannon Yager. He is also survived by two grandchildren he raised, Braxton Yager (Kayla) and Sierra Yager; former daughter-in-law, Windy Cranford; as well as several other grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and brother, Terry Yager (Caroline) .
A committal service for John will be held Wednesday, April 23, 2025 from 10:15 AM to 10:45 AM at Alabama National Cemetery, 3133 Highway 119, Montevallo, AL 35115.
