Joe grew up in Centreville and attended school and played football at Bibb County High School. He worked at Alabaster Lime for many years and Southern Cement in Atlanta for years before moving back to Alabama and working for Alabaster Lime, which became Lhoist North America, where he retired.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Edna Dial; son, James Derek Dial; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph L. Dial of Centreville, Al.; and Mr. and Mrs. Luther Jackson of Randolph, Al.
He is survived by his wife, Lola Ann Dial; son, Joseph "Joey" Dial; daughter, Wendy Dial Eastep; brothers, Eddie Dial (Brenda), Steve Dial (Landice), and Donnie Dial (Barbara).
