Lois "Marie" Johnson

Mrs. Marie Johnson, age 88, of Montevallo, Alabama passed away on Saturday, June 5, 2021. Marie was born March 1, 1933 in Brantleyville, Alabama to Paul and Genoa Brantley along with 6 siblings.
In 1952 Marie married Dewey "Bo" Johnson and together they built a family with 3 beautiful children, 4 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren. From 1980 until she retired in the late 2000's Marie managed Johnson Trailer Park, which kept her busy most of the time. In her spare time Marie enjoyed fishing, gardening, and any outdoor activities. Marie was an independent woman with a strong character.
Marie is preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years Dewey Lee Johnson "Bo"; parents, Paul Murphy Brantley and Genoa Pearl Pledger; brothers, J.W. Brantley and Bobby Ray Brantley; and sister, Anne Pearl Russell.
She is survived by her sisters, Geraldine Amason and Joyce Sneed; brother, Paul M. Brantley Jr.; children, Susan M. Genry (Phillip), Judy D Pickett (Charles), and Jerry W. Johnson (Carol); grandchildren, Brandon Genry (Rene), Andrea Carlee (Shane), Lindsey Dunnaway (Shane), and Trenton Johnson (Ashley); great-grandchildren, Abby Genry, Maddy Genry, Cody Carlee, Rhett Johnson, Austin Carlee, Emory Johnson, Luke Genry, Nathan Dunnaway, and Jordan Dunnaway; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
A visitation for Marie will be held Wednesday, June 9, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Rockco Funeral Home, Montevallo, Alabama followed by funeral service at 2:00 PM, 3715 Highway 25. A committal service will occur Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery, 671 Co Rd 22, Montevallo, AL 35115.
