Steven Travis Killingsworth, age 63, of Calera, Alabama, passed away August 19, 2017. Steve graduated from Calera High School, where he played football and earned the nickname “Rip Van Winkle”. At age 21, he was teaching the adult Sunday school class, and was struck silent at first sight by his future wife, with whom he lovingly lived for 42 years of marriage. He was a deacon at Calera Bible Baptist Church for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil Travis Killingsworth and Elizabeth Louise “Betty” Alexander Killingsworth; his eldest daughter, Joan Elizabeth “Joy” Killingsworth; father-in-law, Dr. Robert Campbell; mother-in-law, Alice Elizabeth “Beth” Hardin (Kyle); and sisters-in-law, Dawn and Rhonda Campbell. Left to treasure his memory are his wife, Joan Campbell Killingsworth; daughter, Tricia Dawn Killingsworth Littleton (Steven); brother, Greg Killingsworth (Judy); mother-in-law, Peggy Davis Campbell; brothers-in-law, Clay Campbell (Lisa) and Wes Hardin; sister-in-law, Mickey Browning (Rob); and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Visitation and services will be at Calera Bible Baptist Church (formerly known as 16th Street Baptist Church). Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Steve’s Celebration of Life will be on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at 12:00 PM, with the family to receive friends beginning at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at Shelby Memory Gardens in Calera.
