

Gramling, Anne Marie, age 82, died on Sunday, September 23rd at 6:00 pm surrounded by her family. Burial will be at Forrest Cemetery, 700 South 15th Street in Gadsden, Alabama with a graveside service at 11:00 am on Wednesday, September 26th with Dr. Karl Stegall officiating. Anne was born on October 11, 1929 in Gadsden, Alabama as the third child of Joseph Luther and Willie Chandler Gramling. A 1947 graduate of Gadsden High School and a graduate from The Alabama College for Women in Montevallo, AL in 1951 with an B.A. in History. Upon graduation, Anne moved to Atlanta, Georgia and began work with Eastern Air Lines ending her career as a Supervisor over six Eastern Air Lines’ ticket offices in Atlanta, GA. While working with Eastern Air Lines, Anne traveled all over the world with friends and family. Anne retired from Eastern Air Lines in 1988 after working for 37 years. After retirement, Anne continued traveling with family and friends. She was a long time resident of Atlanta and Decatur, Georgia and was a faithful member of Decatur First United Methodist Church. In June 2011, Anne moved to Montgomery, AL to the Wesley Gardens Methodist Retirement Home and became a member of First United Methodist Church and the Tower Class Sunday School class in Montgomery. Anne was preceded in death by her parents Joseph Luther Gramling and Willie Chandler Gramling; and her siblings: Martha Jean Gramling Haedicke (Tom), Joseph Luther Gramling, Jr. (Virginia) and Miriam Nell Gramling Cope. She is survived by her nieces and nephews: Janice G. Mayhall (Jack), Dr. George J. Haedicke (Melonie), Terri G. Groves, Joni Gramling, Anne Haedicke Parramore (Woody), Joel R. Cope (Stephanie), and Lee C. Cope; and brother-in-law, Charles D. Cope. She is also survived by several cousins, great nieces and nephews, and numerous longtime and dear friends from Atlanta, GA and Montgomery, AL.
