

Athelston George Bartholomew, Jr., (known by most as A.G., Thel, or Mr. B) passed away peacefully in his home in Montgomery, AL, on June 15, 2016, at 95 years young. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Emma, and his son, Athelston George Bartholomew, III & daughter-in-law, Shirley (FL). Mr. Bartholomew also was the proud grandfather of 2 grandsons, Douglas Bartholomew & wife, Carrie (OH), and Darin Bartholomew & wife, Wendi (IN), who each blessed him with 4 great grandchildren between them, Ian, Chloe, Casey, & Carson. In addition, his stepdaughter, Maria Huzau (AL) and his stepson, George Huzau (OH).
Mr. Bartholomew was born and raised in Clearfield, PA. He was a Clearfield Bison Alumni who graduated from Westminster College of New Wilmington, PA, in 1943. In 1993, Westminster recognized Mr. Bartholomew's now over 50 year association and support and inducted him into the Golden Tower Society. He was also a lifelong alumni of his college fraternity, Sigma Phi Epsilon. Mr. Bartholomew had his own businesses most of his career including a wholesale battery business out of Ohio. In 1984, at age 63, when most folks are thinking retirement, Mr. Bartholomew and his wife relocated to the South and soon thereafter founded the Small Business Clinic of Alabama where he worked until 2010 at age 89. While he spent his last years in Montgomery, Mr. Bartholomew's final resting place will be in the family plot in Clearfield, PA. Online condolences may be shared at this site.
