Barbara Jean James, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away on Tuesday, January 5, 2021, after a short illness. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Rodgers James; daughter, Janet Pettek; parents, William & Elizabeth MacCuish; and siblings, Robert MacCuish, Joan Boyce, Betty Ann Walker. Survivors left to cherish her memory are her children, Elizabeth (John) Giacomello, Joyce (Jeff) Townsend, Joeanne “Peanut” (Paul) St. John, Joseph (May) James, Jr., William “Peewee” (Cindy) James, John (Jennifer) James, Clyde (Stephanie) James, Thomas (Christy) James; 20 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; and siblings, Ruthie LeBlanc, Kathleen Green, Doris Howell, Richard MacCuish.
Mrs. James was a faithful member of St. Luke United Methodist Church. She loved her family and supported her children and grandchildren at all sporting events. She enjoyed traveling and shopping trips with the girls. She was an avid Alabama Crimson Tide fan who dynamically cheered for her team. She was all in at every occasion she attended, had a profound impact on anyone she came in contact with, and will be missed by everyone who knew her.
Visitation will be at 10:00am on Monday, January 11, 2021 at Leak Memory Chapel with a service at 11:00am. Rev. Louann Houser and Rev. Linda Tarver officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers and because she loved animals, memorials may be made to the Montgomery Humane Society in memory of Mrs. James.
