Tatum, Betty, 93, went to her forever home on January 3, 2023. She was born in 1929 in Hood County Texas, to Beulah Ambercrombie Locke and Oliver Kirk Locke. She met Curtis Tatum while he was serving in the United States Air Force, and they were married in 1952. They began their life together in his home of Autauga County Alabama. Betty worked as a PBX operator at Southern Bell before she became a fulltime mother and homemaker. In her later years she worked as a PBX operator at the Montgomery County Courthouse. She was a member of Dalraida Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Curtis Leo Tatum. She is survived by her daughter Paulette Springer, son-in-law William Springer, granddaughter Whitney Springer Blackmon and her husband Steven Blackmon. She leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive visitors on Monday January 9th from 4:00pm-6:00pm at Leak Memory Chapel. Funeral services will be held at Leak Memory Chapel on Tuesday January 10th at 2:00pm. Pallbearers will be Steven Blackmon, Jonathan Faint, Josh Faint, Larry Tatum, Micky Wann, and Larry Wann.
