September 13, 1945 – July 28, 2025
On July 28, 2025, Betty Schiefermuller Zorn of Montgomery, Alabama, passed away peacefully at the age of 79. Born on September 13, 1945, in Schwabach Germany, Betty’s life was a testament to resilience, love and unwavering determination.
She leaves behind a legacy carried in the hearts of her daughters, Patricia Marie Zorn and Donna Kay Zorn, and her beloved granddaughter, Jordan Taylor Holman (Donald Lovar). Betty is now reunited with her husband, William O. Zorn; her daughter, Susanne Zorn-Holman, her brother Alfred, her son-in-law Norman Holman.
Betty came to America in pursuit of a better life, embracing the American Dream with grace and grit. Her life inspired all who knew her, and her strength shaped the lives of those closest to her. She taught us the true meaning of leadership, perseverance, and love – not through words, but through her actions.
Betty began her professional career at KinderCare, where her dedication and natural leadership led her from a part-time teaching role to District Manager. In 1992, seeking a more personal and fulfilling path, she founded Oma’s Today Care—two childcare centers that embodied her passion and purpose. It was, as she often said, her dream job.
Finding the words to express our grief is difficult, as her absence leaves a profound void. Yet, we will forever remember Betty as our guiding light—a woman of fierce honesty, boundless compassion, and quiet strength. She was the heart of our family, and her spirit will continue to guide us.
We are deeply grateful for the love and support shown as we honor Betty’s extraordinary life. She was truly one of a kind, and we are forever blessed to have called her Mom.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at 4300 Wetumpka Hwy, Montgomery, AL 36110 from 1 pm to 3 pm.
