I was honored to serve as his squad leader in Vietnam. We were able to reconnect @ our reunion of the 31st Infantry Regiment. I am so sorry to hear about your loss and my heart and prayers go out to all of the family.

You have my deepest sympathy.
Take comfort from a quote by Carson McCullers:
"How can the dead be truly dead when they live in the souls of those left behind".

I can't begin to tell you how very sad I am about Van's passing. I am only sad because I know how much his friends and family will miss him. Oh what a glorious reward Van will receive. His love for others was always so evident. He was a true witness for Christ. His legacy will live on for sure. Praying for his family during this time.
