Brenda Louise Parker Bates, 63, a resident of Montgomery, AL, passed away at a local hospital on January 19, 2014. Mrs. Bates was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend and will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her husband, Crum Bates, Jr. and her parents, Guy Allen Sampley, Sr. and Margaret Elaine Sampley. She is survived by sons, Michael Wayne Bates and Mark Anthony (Michelle) Bates; daughters, Frankie Elaine (Joseph) Luster and April Marie (Matthew) Luster; and son, David Allen (Kelli) Bates; siblings, Mike Parker, Mary Ann Cleghorn, Carol Thompson, Allen Sampley; and twelve grandchildren, Dillon, Justin, Summer, Joseph, Nicklous, Parker, Lindsay, Chase, Connor, Hunter, Daniel and Margaret. Pallbearers will be Dillon Bates, Justin Bates, Joseph M. Luster, Jr., Christopher Luster, Casey Luster, Jason Evans, Robert Ward and Grey Parker. Funeral services will be on Thursday, January 23, 2014 at 12:00pm at White Chapel Greenwood Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00-12:00 at the funeral home on Thursday.
