

TURNER, Brenda Joyce 72, a longtime resident of Montgomery, died peacefully in her sleep on April 18, 2026. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cary and Joyce Jones, and her brother, David Jones. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Jerry Mike Turner; her children, Chad (April) Turner and Kelly (Clint) McLain, and her cherished grandchildren, Cam, Cari Beth, Anna Kate, Cole, and Jaxson. Brenda was born in Montgomery, Alabama on October 16, 1953. She graduated from Jefferson Davis High School and received a bachelor’s degree in education from Auburn University of Montgomery. She was a member of Taylor Road Baptist Church. She loved Auburn University football, Troy University “Sound of the South”, the beach and spending time with her friends, husband, children, and grandchildren.
Her greatest pride and deepest joy were her grandchildren. She never missed an opportunity to be part of their lives, whether it was cheering from the sidelines, celebrating milestones, or simply spending time together. She loved each of them with her whole heart, creating memories they will carry with them forever.
Known for her thoughtful nature, she always knew how to make others feel seen and cared for. Her sense of humor brought laughter to everyday moments, and her gentle, loving presence brought comfort to those around her.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and family connection that will continue through the generations she cherished so deeply. Though, she will be greatly missed, her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Leak Memory Chapel on Thursday, April 23, 2026. Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m., service to follow at 2:00 p.m. Brother Eddy Williams will officiate. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
