Bufford is survived by; his wife of 65 years Martha Ann Rhoden Harris, his daughters Louanne Burdette, Marie Sanders and Michelle Owens; his grandchildren Michael Moseley Jr., Rachel Moseley Barefield, Steven Burdette, Mark Sanders, Dale Sanders, Shane Owens, and Amy Owens, his great grandchildren Ethan Cox, Emily Cox, Xander Moseley, Cian Moseley, Bella Tedford and Aidan Sanders. Born 6th of 8 children, he is survived by Harley Harris, Jewellee Harris Thomas and Maxine Harris Cowan.
Bufford was preceded in death by his parents; James Allen Harris and Emmaline Godwin Harris.
A graduate of Patterson High School (1952) in Patterson, Georgia, Bufford joined the Union Camp Corporation right out of high school and went to work in Savannah, GA. He developed skills and expertise in the electricity producing power plant of the paper mill. After working in several different mills, he finished his career in Monroeville, AL (Alabama River Pulp) where he retired after 20 years at the age of 65. A faithful member and deacon of Pintlala Baptist Church, he especially enjoyed singing in the choir.
A visitation for Bufford will be held Tuesday, November 26, 2019 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Pintlala Baptist Church, 73 Federal Rd, Hope Hull, AL 36043. A Celebration of Life funeral service is set for 1:00 PM with a committal at Greenwood Serenity Memorial Garden, Montgomery, AL.
