

Charles J. Calhoun, 88, of Montgomery went home to be with his Heavenly Father October 31, 2012. Charles was born in Elba, AL and went to work for L & N Railroad at an early age. He retired after 42 years and also worked for over 20 years with Montgomery Small Motors. Charles enjoyed music and played with Hank Williams, Sr. He was preceded in death by his wife Brenise; Parents: Charles Fitzhugh and Minnie Lee Calhoun; Brothers: Fred and Floyd Calhoun; Sister: Helen Ham. He is survived by his daughter: Gayle Truett and husband Bertram of Blaine, TN; Son: Lt. Col. Ben Calhoun, Arlington, VA; Sisters: Sarah Donaldson, Betty Crook and husband Harry, of Enterprise; Brother: Harold Calhoun and wife Shirley of Ozark, Grandchildren: Lynn Gamber and husband Ken of Madison, AL, Rev. Corey Truett and wife Heather of Tupelo, MS; Great grandchildren: Conner Gamber, Savannah Truett, Haydn Truett, and David Truett; Daughter in law: Michele Calhoun, Burke, VA; sisters in law: Edith Calhoun, Elba, Jean Calhoun, Enterprise, Jean Crawley, Prattville; Special friends: Mona Payne and Sybil Calloway; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Saturday, November 3, 2012 at Leak Memory Chapel with visitation beginning at 1 pm. Rev. Corey Truett officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
