
Charles Andrew "Chuck" Stewart IV, 24, a lifelong resident of Montgomery, died Saturday, March 7, in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. He was a 2009 graduate of Montgomery Academy, a recent graduate of Auburn University at Montgomery and a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon social fraternity. He is survived by his parents, Charles Andrew "Chuck" Stewart III and Ann Shashy Stewart; two sisters, Nancy Van Zile Stewart of Charlotte, N.C. and Katherine Ann Stewart of San Francisco, Ca.; his maternal grandfather, Dr. Paul M. Shashy of Montgomery; his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Fredda Stewart Benefield of Birmingham, and a large and loving circle of aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, friends in Montgomery and across the country.Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 11, at St. Peter's Catholic Church by Father Michael J. Sreboth. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.Chuck was an accomplished outdoorsman, animal lover and Tide devotee who mentored many a young man by sharing his knowledge of hunting, fishing and life in general. He was a young man remembered by all he met, a son and brother who loved his family with his whole heart and a gentleman by natural instinct. He was most at home wetting a hook or stalking a buck on his grandfather's farm and his friends were his Earthly treasures. Chuck loved the land as much as he loved people and was at peace in the early morning light. Pallbearers will be Paul Allen, William Hester, Jay Donnell, Spears Rhodes, John A. Jacobs, Ashton Babb, Matthew Reilly and Beckham Palmer. Honorary pallbearers will be Walter McCorkle, Ellis Terry, Daniel Newell, Charlie Hudgens, Clay Cook, Joseph Azar, Evan Shaffer, Lee Shafer, Hunter Smith, William Heilpern and Matthew Massey.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity. .Love is a fabric that never fades, no matter how often it is washed in the tears of grief.
