Craig J. Carr

December 13, 1957 – May 27, 2025

Craig J. Carr, 67, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2025, following an extended illness.

A devoted public servant, steadfast protector, and cherished family man, Craig lived a life defined by integrity, strength, and unwavering love for his family and community.

A proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, Craig carried the values of duty and honor into a distinguished law enforcement career spanning nearly four decades. He faithfully served with the Alabama State Troopers and later with the Oxford Police Department.

Beyond his service, Craig was a man deeply rooted in faith and family. He is survived by his loving wife, Rebecca “Becki” Carr; sister, Leanne Carr; brother, Eric Carr; children, Craig (Miranda) Carr, Jr., Becca (Hayden) Brooks, Chelsi (Beth) Shears, Kip (Michelle) Martin, and Chasati Stuckey; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Leonard and Hilma Jo Carr and daughter Christen Nicole “Nicki” Carr.

Craig will be remembered for his quiet strength, dedication to service, and deep love for his family.

Pallbearers will be members of Oxford Police Department.

A family and friends visitation for Craig will be held Tuesday, June 3, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Leak Memory Chapel, 945 Lincoln Rd, Montgomery, Alabama 36109, followed by a chapel funeral service at 2:00 PM. Burial to follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
