

Wood, Cynthia (Cindy) Carroll, 70, a resident of Montgomery, passed away peacefully on November 4, 2024. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred Bennett Carroll and Doris Marie Carroll. She is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, Tony Rudolph (Rudy) Wood, her daughter, Lane Gilliland Crew (Mike), grandsons Parker James Crew and Michael Bennett Crew, sisters Sandra Howie and Susie Mustin, her beloved dogs Dawson and Jett, and countless other family and friends. Known as “GiGi” to those closest to her, Cindy was born in Anchorage, Alaska on February 9, 1954. She graduated from Lee High School and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Auburn University Montgomery. She later earned her Master’s Degree in Counseling from Troy University Montgomery. She worked for Montgomery Public Schools as an educator and counselor for over 30 years, touching innumerable lives during that time. Cindy was an incredible mother, wife, and grandmother whose compassionate spirit will live on through those who knew her. To honor Cindy’s overwhelming love of all of God’s creatures, in lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your local animal rescue. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Leak Memory Chapel on Thursday, November 7, 2024 at 11:00 a.m., with Visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m.
