SMSgt Darrell R. Guilliams passed away on June 23, 2013. He was born in Hopland, CA to Ollie Imogene Burnett Guilliams and Roy William Guilliams. He grew up in Eureka, CA and joined the U. S. Air Force in 1961. He spent the next 28 years on tours of duty in Anchorage and Shemya Alaska, Maxwell AFB, Alabama, Itazuke Japan, The USAF Academy and Izmir, Turkey. He worked part time at Sears while on his first tour at Maxwell in order to support his golf and bowling habits. There he met his future wife—a union that would last for 48 years, although he constantly maintained that "she was the only thing I ever got at Sears that they wouldn't give me a refund for". Following his retirement from the Air Force, he and Carol moved to Lake Martin and Darrell worked for Willow Point Golf Course for 14 years before retiring for good. At that point he was actively involved with Lake Martin Resources Association on the boating safety committee. He most recently was engaged in the Fitness Program at Russell Medical Center in Alex City. He attended the Master Gardener course through the Auburn Extension Center and was Project Chairman for the Central Alabama Master Gardener's Association (CAMGA). He was also a devoted Montgomery Biscuits Baseball and Auburn Football fan. He was predeceased by his mother and father, stepfather Arthur J. Withey, sister Darlene Ochs, son-in-law, Jerry Cedillo, father-in-law, James M. Adams Sr. and brother-in-law, James M. Adams Jr. He is survived by his wife, Carol Adams Guilliams; son, Michael A.
