Diana Lynn Goodman, 70, of Montgomery, Alabama, passed away on March 16, 2026. Born January 16, 1956, in California, Diana was beloved, faithful, and humorous, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. After this introduction, she will be remembered simply as Diana.
In earlier years, Diana lived in Selma before moving to Montgomery, where she made her home and built a life rooted in love and devotion.
Diana was a seamstress specializing in alterations at the Locker Room. Her work reflected the steady care she brought to everything she did—patient, skilled, and dependable.
Diana took joy in the things that brought people together. She loved Alabama Football and NASCAR, especially Dale Earnhardt. She also cherished weekly date nights, a simple tradition that spoke to the value she placed on time shared with those she loved.
Diana was preceded in death by her father, Hugo Hobson, and her mother, Ruby Nichols Hobson.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 28 years, James M. Goodman; her children, Ryan White (Paloma), Michael Goodman (Kim), John Sides (Detria), Dave Sides (Babette), Jennifer Stanfield (Andy), and Kim Sides (Pete); her grandchildren, Liam White, Jeremy Berry (Blair), Mathew Goodman, Amy Owens (Todd), Emily Hare (Austin), and Ashley Lawing (Cameron); her great-grandchildren, Lawrence, Levi, Shelby, Brewer, and Jameson; her brother, Frank Hobson (Gail); and her sisters-in-law, Georgia Stutherland (Jim) and Ruby Nell Goodman.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Diana will be scheduled for a later date.
