

Earl Terry Brown, age 63, of Montgomery, Alabama passed away on December 10, 2016. He is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years, Jean Williams Brown, and daughters Meredith Brown Wills (Sonny) and Caroline Townson Brown, and his granddaughter, Townson Andress Wills. He is also survived by his mother, Betty Shaffield Brown, his twin brother, Kerry Wayne Brown (Faye), his sister, Nanci Brown Ludlum, and his brother, David Raymond Brown (Patti). He is also survived by a host of loving nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Earl T. Brown.
Terry was born in Birmingham and spent his formative years in Ozark, Alabama, where he graduated from Carroll High School and served as student body president. He was a proud graduate of the University of Alabama and University of Alabama School of Law. While in law school he was a Hugo Black scholar, a member of the Bench and Bar Legal Honor Society, and Associate Chairman of the Journal of the Legal Profession. It was in law school that he met his wife, Jean.
Upon their graduation from the University of Alabama School of Law, Terry and Jean moved to Montgomery where they joined First Baptist Church of Montgomery and reared their two girls.
Terry served as a law clerk to Justice Sam Beatty on the Alabama Supreme Court and then began practicing law with Copeland, Franco, Screws and Gill. He later joined the firm of Chambless, Math & Brown where he worked until his retirement from the practice of law.
