
Edith Walton Carter, 89, passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2013. Edith was church secretary for 16 years with Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Montgomery, AL and also was active in the Lupus Foundation. She was preceded in death by her husband James M. Carter, parents Claude Lou Walton and Eunice Catlett Walton, brother Claude Lou Walton, Jr. and sister Virginia Walton Wright. She is survived by her daughters Sylvia Carter Williams, Montgomery; Suzanne Carter Bryan (Howard F.), Lanett, AL; Deborah Carter Richbourg (Rick), Montgomery; Sister: Juanita Walton Windham (Clifton), Moundville, AL; Grandchildren: Edith Williams Cox (Edward), Suwanee, GA; Christine Bryan Dean (Brent), Auburn, AL; Catherine Bryan Coker (Chad), Tuscumbia, AL; Great Grandchildren: Carter Edward Cox, Amelia Williams Cox, Dalton Dean, Zachary Dean, Tucker Dean, Sawyer Dean and Catherine Camille Coker. Funeral services will be at 2 pm Sunday, July 28, 2013 at Leak Memory Chapel with Pastor Jim Looney officiating. Visitation will begin at 1 pm. Interment will be at 4 pm at Elam Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Goshen, AL. Pallbearers are Edward Cox, Brent Dean, Chad Coker, Chris Wilkes, Dwight Folmer and Steve Horton. Honorary pall-bearers are Tommy Walton and Claude Windham.
