Edith Elizabeth Hudgins, a resident of Montgomery, Alabama passed away on October 26, 2025, at the age of 90. Born on June 18, 1935, Edith moved to the United States early in her life and settled in Montgomery with her husband after his retirement from the US Air Force in the early 1970’s. She worked outside the home but enjoyed being a homemaker, and later in life as a clerk.
She is preceded in death by her parents, father Fredrick Appleton, mother Claire Louise Appleton, brother, Fred Appleton, and sister Louise Clifford; daughter, Deborah Ann “Debbie” Huggins and grandson James “Jimmy” Huggins.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 70 years, Joe Hudgins, sons, Wayne Hudgins, Dean Hudgins and Paul (Brenda) Hudgins, grandsons Jay (Virginia) Hudgins, and Bobby (Jennifer) Huggins, granddaughter Kristina (Chris) Wolf and great grandchildren, Jonathan Hudgins, Braden Wolf, Hunter Wolf, Alyssa Huggins, Tenley Wolf and Katyann Huggins. She is also survived by her sisters Jessie Ackrill, Rose Cotton, Dorothy Skerten and Carol Harris all of England.
A Family and Friends Visitation will be October 29, 2025, from 10 until 11 am with a graveside committal service immediately following in Greenwood Cemetery.
