Ellen Rooke, 81, of Montgomery, Alabama entered into the presence of the Lord on November 28, 2025 in Albertville, Alabama. Born on March 22, 1944, in Atlanta, Georgia, she moved to Montgomery with her family in 1960. Ellen was a devoted and long term member of First Baptist Church of Montgomery as an adult and grew up at Dalraida Baptist Church in Montgomery. Ellen worked at Baptist Hospital in Montgomery and faithfully attended to her parents in their elder years. She was preceded in death by her mother, Sarah Lois Austin Rooke and her father, Ben Marett Rooke, Sr. Ellen is survived by her brother, Ben Marett Rooke Jr (Diane) of Albertville, Alabama and their children, Ben Marett (Jennifer) Rooke III, Austin Rooke, and Angelia (Kerry) Mitchell and Kenny (Sharon) of Marietta, Georgia and their children, Benjamin (Sumer) Rooke, Jenny Rooke, Matthew (Caroline) Rooke, and Mark Rooke as well as five grandnieces and five grandnephews and one great grandnephew. Though she will be deeply missed, we rejoice in the confidence of 2 Timothy 4:7: "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." Her legacy will continue in the hearts of all who knew her.
A Celebration of Life Chapel Service will be held at Leak Memory Chapel, located at 945 Lincoln Rd, Montgomery, Alabama, 36109. The service is scheduled for December 3, 2025, starting at 11:00 am with visitation at 10:00 am. Services will conclude with the burial at Greenwood Cemetery.
