
Elsie Marie Laue McIntosh, 95, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 14, 2013. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 17, 2013 from 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm at White Chapel Greenwood Funeral Home followed by funeral services at 3:00 pm with Rev. Carey Elam officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Mrs. McIntosh was a native of Lyndon, Kansas and taught school before marrying. Her Christian spirit of love and kindness was evident in everything she did. She was a 61 year member of Epiphany Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School and served in the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League. Mrs. McIntosh was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Vergil McIntosh; a son, Darrell McIntosh; and by her two sisters and two brothers. She is survived by a son, Larry McIntosh (Amy) of Huntsville, AL; a daughter, Jeanette Barnes of Montgomery; five grandchildren, Charlotte Tubbs (Brandon) of Carrollton, GA, Brian McIntosh of Huntsville, AL, Kelly Himel (Adam) of Auburn, AL, Scott McIntosh of Atlanta, GA, Jamie Barnes of Santa Cruz, CA; great grandchildren, Abigail and Caroline Tubbs of Carrollton, GA and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff and caregivers at John Knox Manor for their tender and devoted attention during her last years.
