

Frances Morgan Brooks, a resident of Montgomery, AL passed away on October 3, 2017 at the age of 96. Frances, formerly of Brantley, AL, had a generous love for people. Her favorite hobby was cooking. Her family and friends were beneficiaries of her cheese straws, brownies, cheesecakes, and many casseroles. She was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church for 65 years and a Sunday School teacher for 7 and 8 year olds for many years. Frances was also involved in the various mission programs in the church. She worked for Gayfer’s Dept. Store for 38 years and retired as a Senior Buyer.
She was 1 of 6 children of Walter and Autie Morgan, of Brantley, AL.
Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Milton D. Brooks.
She is survived by her sister, Mary M. Adams; nieces, Beth A. Kuykendall and Sandra R. Carnes; and nephews, Billy Rayborn, Tom Adams, and Joseph Taylor.
A Visitation will be held on Friday, October 6, 2017 from 12:00-1:00 at Leak Memory Chapel, with a Celebration of Life at 1:00 p.m. with Dr. Bobby DuBois officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers to include: Cody Jones, Homer Kuykendall, Billy Rayborn, Tony Sims, Sam Carnes, and Joe Rutledge. Honorary Pallbearers: Joseph Taylor and the Deacons of Ridgecrest Baptist Church.
