Frances Newman Dean King, age 90, of Montgomery, Alabama died peacefully with her children by her side on Wednesday March 11, 2020. Frances was born December 14, 1929 to Velma Cargile Newman and Luther Newman.
Frances is survived by: her children, Elaine Duncan, Gary Dean, Darryl Dean and Donna (David) Edwards; her brother, Cecil Newman; and grandchildren, Matt Dean, Randi Dean, Andy Duncan, Zac Duncan, Seth Duncan, Ryan Register, Kyle Edwards, Abby Edwards, Eric Dean, Elizabeth Dean, Lisa Dean and Brandon Dean. She leaves behind 12 great grandchildren to cherish her memories.
Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Dean and later her second husband, Curt King; sons, Ray Dean, Ronald Dean, Donald Dean; son-in-law, Lorenzo Duncan; father, Luther Newman and mother, Velma Cargile Newman; brothers, Gene Green, Frank Green and David Green.
Retiring as a mail sorter for the US post office, she was always busy working for her family. Frances will be remembered as a marvelous cook with an amazing knack for taking a little and making something spectacular. She enjoyed gardening, watching the birds and squirrels and growing flowers. A love for travel and her church, rounded out her many interests. Her dedication to her family was a true blessing and will be eternally cherished.
A visitation for Frances will be held Sunday, March 15, 2020 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Leak Memory Chapel, 945 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, AL 36109, followed by a Celebration of Life at 2:00 PM. Burial will conclude the services at 3:30 pm in Bethlehem Cemetery, Lapine, AL.
