Ida Louise Winkler Whiddon February 16, 1929—February 19, 2016, passed away peacefully and went home to be with the Lord. She was the beloved wife, of the late J. Gerald Whiddon Jr. She is survived by her devoted children; Gail Whiddon Kidd (Brant), Shannon Whiddon Johnson (Steve), James G. Whiddon III (John), and grandchildren: Tommy and Laura Johnson, and Louise and Melissa Kidd. She was loved dearly and will be missed every day.
Born in Greenville, AL, she was the daughter of the late Edward H. Winkler and Louise Thagard Winkler. Late brothers include: Edward Winkler and Leon Winkler. She is survived by a brother, Dr. Charles Fredrick Winkler (Mary Jane) and many nieces and nephews. After graduating from Judson College and going to St. Joseph’s Nursing School, Louise worked as an RN. She married Gerald and began a family in Montgomery, AL.
She loved to sew, play bridge and participate in the Daffodil Garden Club. She also delighted in antiquing and being with friends and family. She holds a special place in the memories of her family.
Visitation will be at the home of Robert P Weiss- 8241 Jackson Trace, Montgomery, AL 36117 from 11 AM- 1:00 PM on Wednesday. Graveside Service will follow at Greenwood Cemetery at 2:30 pm.
