Some knew him as Daddy Ralph, Bro. Mims, Mr. Mims, or Bro. Ralph... I called him preacher! He was my friend, my mentor, my example, my teacher and pastor. He never told me anything about the ministry that he didn't show me first. He was a pastor with no equal, a prayer warrior, soul winner, encourager, and above all, a man of God! He lead softly, loved sincerely, and preached earnestly. I've watched him be a friend to his friends and a friend to his enemies.  He died "having served his generation by the will of God." I live to serve my generation in the spirit of my preacher, Ralph Mims.


We have had the pleasure of knowing Brother Mims for many years and what a blessing he was to our lives in the ministry. He was always ready and willing to pray with us and pray for us. He was a true friend! Our prayers are with you all and know that with Jesus as your Saviour we will see Bro. Ralph again one day.

have known Ralph for a number of years. He was always a kind man and enjoyed many conversations with him over the years. Our prayers are with the family at this time. 


I am one of those who grew up at Wilson Ave Baptist Church and had the great pleasure of knowing this wonderful man.  I never forgot him and the impact he made on my life as a young person.  I was so happy when I heard he was a Pastor.  I know God used him to impact many lives and add to the kingdom.  I can imagine that Pastor Sammy Gates, my dad (John Coker) and many others were there to greet him on the other side.  
I pray that you will feel the peace of God and His strength to carry you through.  God bless you and you will be in my prayers.

Brother Ralph was my pastor at Harvest Baptist Church for several years until some health issues.  I was not raised in the church but I attended a revival and was saved at 16 years old.  After getting saved, I did not attend church regularly.   My mother in law went to Harvest Baptist and she was always talking about Bro. Ralph and people at Harvest.    Well, after I had my first child, I needed a daycare  and Harvest had one and I knew that my son would be cared for being a newborn.  Once I started taking my son to daycare, everyday the lady that was there in the morning when I dropped him off would invite me to church.  Between her and my mother in law,  I finally decided to visit 7 years later.   I visited and signed a card and Bro. Ralph came to visit me at home.  He invited us to come back to Harvest and he witnessed to me and my husband and I assured him that I was saved and my husband as well.   I ended up joining Harvest and I have been going every since.  Both of my boys, were saved at an early age under the preaching of Bro. Ralph.  I will always love Bro. Ralph, I know that he truly loved, cared, prayed for and sought the best for his flock.  He always preached the gospel and was a great witness for the Lord.   If you ever bring up Bro. Ralph to anyone, they always talk of the love and care he had for people and their souls.  He was a soul winner.   He never ceased from being a witness for the Lord.  He did visit and  witness to both of my parents in their last days and thanks to Bro. Ralph,  I can have assurance and know that my dad is in heaven today.   My dad was a hard man and wouldn't discuss those matters with anyone, but he did with Bro. Ralph.    I could go on and on about the love, support and guidance that Bro. Ralph always so freely gave.  I love you Bro. Ralph and I will see you again one day!  You finally got to experience "What A Day that will Be"......

Bro. Ralph was a precious and dear friend of our family for many years. My Daddy loved and admired Bro. Ralph and they shared a deep love for and knowledge of the Scripture.  He was especially dear to me because he led me to Lord when I was 13, after hearing him preach one Sunday night. He was always friendly to everyone he met and exemplified what it means to share Jesus' love. He will be surely missed!

Brother Ralph is truly a child of the Lord.
He will always have a special place in my heart.
Brother Ralph led my father to the Lord in 2002. Brother Ralph has continued to keep our family in prayer. He was so kind to my family through the years. God Bless you Brother Ralph.  My heart goes out to the Mims Family. I wish to thank you for sharing Brother Ralph with us.

Bro Ralph was kind and a good man who made an impact on my family, good impact, especially with my dad, Bro Ralph before he got sick would visit my mom and dad quite often and I know it meant a lot to them both especially during my mom's sickness.  Thank you Bro Ralph for your compassion, love and kindness to our family...I know God has a special place in His house prepared just for you....thoughts and prayers for your family....
